Note: This comic is best suited for Black & White format. All panels will be the POV of the main character. We see exactly what he or she sees.

PAGE ONE (Six Panel Grid)

PANEL 1
Floor level perspective - our main character is lying on the floor. In the immediate foreground, a small pool of thick, black liquid rests peacefully on top of a wooden floor. An adorable mutt of a dog stares right into the eyes of our unseen, main character. Behind the dog, the battered, living room of the main character including a television set (turned off) and a doorway to a brightly lit kitchen.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 2

The dog starts to lick at the pool of black liquid. Nothing else changes, the POV of the character remains perfectly still.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 3

The dog has stopped licking the thick substance - no remains of the substance appear on his mouth. Without stepping in the murky material, the dog inches his face closer to the face of the main character. POV remains still, as if the character is dead.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 4
The dog is licking the face of the main character, getting right into the “eye of the camera” & filling the perspective of the panel.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 5
More licking. The POV remains exactly the same.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 6
The dog has stopped licking and is now cautiously backing away from the main character. The dog has not disturbed the puddle of liquid at all. The POV still remains static.

NO DIALOGUE

PAGE TWO (Six Panel Grid)

PANEL 1

The dog has continued backing up towards the doorway to the brightly lit kitchen. Strangely, the dog has not looked behind him to see where he is going. The POV of the main character still has not changed.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 2

The dog now stands the empty doorway. Oddly, the puddle of dark fluid has begun to recede back towards the main character, exposing more wood floor. POV remains the same.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 3

The mutt is now gone, presumably into the brightly lit room. The puddle of dark matter has reduced almost half in size - as if the main character is drinking the liquid himself.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 4

The liquid has almost completely disappeared. Only a miniscule amount remains in the forefront of the panel. Strangely, no drops or remains of the substance are visible outside the tiny puddle in the forefront. It has been sucked up entirely too clean. POV remains the same.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 5

The mystery liquid is completely gone. In its place, we have two combat boots and the legs attached to them. Curiously, the legs seem to be exiting the panel, not arriving.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 6

The combat boots and their owner now stand firmly in the frame of the panel. As if their owner is hovering above the main character, looking down on him.

NO DIALOGUE

PAGE THREE (Six Panel Grid)

PANEL 1

Repeat of Page Two, Panel Six. The combat boots and their owner now stand firmly in the frame of the panel. As if their owner is hovering above the main character, looking down on him. POV is still at floor level.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 2

Still focused on the lower portion of the man in the combat boots, however, the POV has risen slightly from the floor. The main character is lifting himself off the floor.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 3

The POV has moved further up the body of the mystery man to his torso, all clad in black. In his right hand, he holds a gun – currently pointed to the ground.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 4

The POV of the main character has now reached eye level with the mystery assailant, whose face is covered in a black stocking. His gun is now pointed directly at the main character.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 5

The masked assailant fires his gun.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 6

Still at eye-level with the attacker. A trail of smoke lingers around the discharged weapon.

NO DIALOGUE

PAGE FOUR (Six Panel Grid)

PANEL 1

Repeat of Page Three, Panel Five. The masked assailant fires his gun.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 2

The gunman has taken two steps back, but still holds the gun pointed at the main character. The POV has not moved.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 3

The gunman stands in the doorway to the brightly lit room. The gun rests at his side. The POV of the main character has dropped two feet, as if he has sat down on to a chair or sofa, but is focused on the gunman.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 4

The main character's POV has moved slightly to focus on the television set (still turned off). The doorway is still in his field of vision.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 5

The mutt is making his way out the door way into the brightly lit room. This time, the dog is facing towards the other room as it makes its exit. The television set is now turned on.

NO DIALOGUE

PANEL 6

The dog is back in the face of his owner, the main character, licking feverishly, filling the panel.

MAIN CHARACTER (Off-Panel): HEY BOY, HOW DID YOU GET INSIDE?
